How I got here
Four doctors told us it was impossible for us to have a baby on our own.
As the years went by, it got easy to believe them. That's the part nobody warns you about — not the diagnosis, but how reasonable it starts to sound.
We didn't give up hope. Our first two children came through IVF. Our third I had at 45, naturally, against all the odds.
I'm not going to tell you the odds don't matter. They do. What I'll tell you is that four experts agreed on something, and it happened anyway.
The rest of my life has run on the same principle. Leading Airmen as a two-time Air Force commander. Finding stillness as a yoga teacher. Yoga became my anchor, and biohacking gave me tools to keep going when hope felt out of reach.
Most people who come to me have already decided they're disqualified. They're usually wrong too.
